Izu Islands
The Izu archipelago (伊豆 諸島 Izu shōtō?) Is a group of volcanic islands that extend south and are east of the Izu Peninsula in Honshu, Japan. Administratively, they are part of Tokyo prefecture, divided into three sub-prefectures (there are some islands not incorporated into any sub-prefecture). The largest of the islands is Ōshima or Izu Ōshima. All the islands are part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.
The island is one of the most enigmatic places that exist, they are a group of volcanic islands that extend to the south and east of the Izu Peninsula, Honshu, Japan.
The largest town is that of Izu Oshima, usually called only Oshima, Due to the nature of the volcanic islands continuously the environment is full of the smell of sulfur (you can imagine the smell).
residents were evacuated from the islands in 1953 and 2000 due to volcanic activity and high levels of dangerous gases. In 2005, most people who have returned are now forced to wear their gas mask, making it a very scary place.
